PLEASE READ THIS STARBUCKS® REWARDS PROGRAM TERMS OF USE (“TERMS OF USE” CAREFULLY. BY ACCESSING OR PARTICIPATING IN THE STARBUCKS® REWARDS PROGRAM, YOU AGREE TO BE BOUND BY THESE TERMS OF USE AND ALL TERMS INCORPORATED HEREIN BY REFERENCE. IF YOU DO NOT AGREE TO ALL OF THESE TERMS OF USE, DO NOT ACCESS OR PARTICIPATE IN THE STARBUCKS® REWARDS PROGRAM.

  1. General

1.1 These Terms of Use apply to your access to, and use of, all or part of any website or mobile application, and participation in, the Starbucks® Rewards Program which is operated by Coffee Concepts (Lao) Sole Co., Ltd (“Starbucks”, “we” or “our”), an authorized licensee of Starbucks Coffee International, Inc in Lao PDR. These Terms of Use do not alter in any way the terms or conditions of any other agreement you may have with Starbucks for other products and services. 

1.2 You agree that we may provide updates, notices, disclosures and amendments to these Terms of Use, and other information relating to the Starbucks® Rewards Program by electronic means, including posting such information and materials online at www.starbucks.la (“Starbucks Website”).

  1. Changes to Terms

Starbucks reserves the right to change, modify and/or terminate the Starbucks® Rewards Program (including member rewards and benefits), and/or these Terms of Use or any policies, FAQs, or guidelines pertaining to Starbucks® Rewards Program, in whole or in part, at any time and in its sole discretion. Any changes or modifications will be effective immediately and may be posted on the Starbucks Website, and you waive any right, as you may have, to receive specific notice of such changes or modifications. Your continued access to or participation in Starbucks® Rewards Program following any such changes or modifications confirms your acceptance of these Terms of Use and any such changes or modifications; therefore, you should review these Terms of Use and applicable policies and FAQs frequently to understand the terms and conditions that apply to Starbucks® Rewards Program. If you do not agree to these Terms of Use, you must stop accessing and participating in Starbucks® Rewards Program.

  1. Personal Use

3.1 The Starbucks® Rewards Program is intended for personal use only. Commercial use is prohibited. Starbucks® Rewards Program is not targeted towards, nor intended for use by, anyone under the age of eighteen (18). If you are thirteen (13) years or older but under the age of eighteen (18), you should review these Terms of Use with your parent or guardian to make sure you and your parent or guardian understand and agree to these Terms of Use and by participating in the Starbucks® Rewards Program, your parent or guardian has provided consent to your participation herein. Should your parent or guardian not agree to these Terms of Use, you must stop participating in Starbucks® Rewards Program. Minors below thirteen (13) years of age are not eligible to participate in the Starbucks® Rewards Program.

3.2 Our Privacy Policy is incorporated into these Terms of Use and also governs your participation in Starbucks® Rewards Program. Please read the Privacy Policy carefully to understand how Starbucks collects, uses, stores, transfers, and discloses information about its customers, how to update or change your personal information, and how we communicate with you. By participating in Starbucks® Rewards Program, you agree, consent and approve to all actions that we take in relation to your data consistent with our Privacy Policy.

3.3 Starbucks shall not be liable or responsible for any of your content uploaded or stored by you or third party, or for any loss or damage thereto, nor is Starbucks liable for any user conduct or any mistakes; you are solely responsible for your participation in the Starbucks® Rewards Program. 

3.4 In the event that you use a public computer, or multiple people have access to such computer to log in into your registered Starbucks® Rewards account, you shall make sure to follow all relevant instructions to ensure you are sufficiently disconnected and logged off from your account and the computer system you are using to prevent unauthorized control over your account.

  1. About Starbucks® Rewards Program

Starbucks® Rewards Program is one way in which Starbucks endeavors to reward and thank loyal customers for patronizing our business and purchasing Starbucks products. Members of Starbucks® Rewards Program are able to earn and accumulate “Stars” that can be redeemed for Starbucks® Rewards Program’s benefits, also known as “Rewards”, at participating Starbucks stores in Lao PDR.

  1. Joining Starbucks® Rewards Program

You can enroll in Starbucks® Rewards Program and begin accumulating Stars by visiting the Starbucks® Rewards’ member web portal. Upon signing up an account after agreement to these Terms of Use and Privacy Policy, you will receive a One-Time Password verification code to your mobile SMS that is used for signing up and activating your account. Please contact our Starbucks® Rewards Customer Care Center at +856 20 5724 1552 if you do not receive the One-Time Password verification code within 24 hours.

The registration process may require that you provide the following information: surname, given name, mobile phone number, e-mail address, date of birth, password or PIN number.

  1. Earning Stars

The benefits that are available to you through Starbucks® Rewards Program are based on the number of “Stars” that you earn. You can earn Stars by making purchases at any participating Starbucks stores in Lao PDR by scanning your member QR code in the member web portal and then paying with cash, credit card, debit card, QR or digital wallet.

Please note that spending will only be calculated and Stars accumulated after your purchase at any participating Starbucks stores in Lao PDR; and you must present your relevant Starbucks® Rewards member QR code for scanning at the time of payment.

No “Star” will be rewarded for any purchases with a registered Starbucks® Rewards Account in any Starbucks stores outside of Lao PDR.

You will earn Stars based on the value of your purchase at the rate of one (1) Star for each LAK 12,000 (Twelve Thousand Laotian Kips) spent when you scan your member QR code in the Starbucks® Rewards’ member web portal. At Starbucks’ sole discretion, Stars may be earned and awarded in fractional amounts depending on the value of your purchase paid fully only.

Typically, Stars for qualifying purchases from participating Starbucks stores are automatically added to your account at the earliest after the transaction is completed or within approximately forty-eight (48) hours. From time to time, we, or others acting with our permission, may offer you special promotions via SMS, email or other electronic means, including but not limited to, offers for “Promotional Stars.” Promotional Stars, such as “bonus” Stars, will be awarded as described in the applicable promotional offer and will be subject to any additional terms set forth in the promotional offer.

  1. Starbucks® Rewards Program Benefits

As a Starbucks® Rewards member, you may be eligible for the following benefits:

    • 50% off on the first purchase of food and handcrafted beverages within thirty (30) days after registration.
    • 25% discount on food and handcrafted beverage for the second order within thirty (30) days after registration.
    • Birthday cake from Starbucks on your birth month when you purchase any beverages.
    • Multiple-tier rewards:
      • 50 Stars for Free Upsize on beverages (available only Tall and Grande size)
      • 100 Stars for one (1) Free Grande Size Drink
      • 150 Stars for LAK 150,000 discount on retails products (i.e., whole bean, merchandise and package food)

Please note that Stars accumulated in the Starbucks® Rewards Program will only be valid for twelve (12) months from the date such Stars were earned. However, any Rewards you have accumulated but which have not been used and have not expired will remain available in your account and you can redeem such Rewards in accordance with the prescribed conditions herein.

You can view or track your Star balance and available Rewards online by logging into your account at www.starbucksrewards.la. Starbucks reserves the right to change the benefits and Rewards in its sole discretion at any time.

You are responsible for updating your Starbucks® Rewards account and ensuring all information you provide in your account is accurate and up to date at all times, including your email and mailing addresses at www.starbucks.la. If any information you provide is not accurate or up to date, you may not receive special offer(s) and/or invitation(s). You can view and track your available offer(s) and/or invitation(s) on your Starbucks® Rewards account. 

  1. Miscellaneous

8.1 There is no membership fee associated with Starbucks® Rewards Program. Stars accumulated under the Starbucks® Rewards Program have no cash value.

8.2 Starbucks may introduce promotion programs relating to Starbucks® Rewards Program whereby these Terms of Use may be varied as applicable to such programs.

8.3 Your Stars, Rewards, and your account under Starbucks® Rewards Program are personal to you and may not be sold, transferred or assigned to, or shared with family, friends or others, or used by you for any commercial purpose. You may have only one (1) Starbucks® Rewards account that is personal to you.

8.4 Without notice and by its sole discretion, Starbucks reserves the right to “deregister” your Starbucks® Rewards account. In the event that your Starbucks® Rewards account is deregistered or rendered inactive, then all accumulated Stars in your account are void.

8.5 Without notice and by its sole discretion, Starbucks reserves the right to suspend and/or terminate your Starbucks® Rewards account and/or your participation into Starbucks® Rewards Program if Starbucks determines that you have violated these Terms of Use, or you have more than one (1) Starbucks® Rewards account, or that the use of your Starbucks® Rewards account is unauthorized, deceptive, fraudulent or otherwise unlawful. Starbucks may, in its sole discretion, suspend, cancel or combine accounts that appear to be duplicative. In the event that your participation into Starbucks® Rewards Program is terminated, then all accumulated Stars in your account are void.

  1. Deletion of Starbucks® Rewards Account

You may request to delete your Starbucks® Rewards account at any time by contacting our Customer Care Hotline: +856 20 5724 1552 Please note that (a) all account deletion requests are final and irreversible once processed; and (b) upon deletion of your account, all information and benefits associated with your deleted account will not be accessible or recoverable, including your account history, Stars and other reward benefits.

  1. Claims and Disputes

10.1 All claims or disputes arising out of or in relation to these Terms of Use or the Starbucks® Rewards Program shall be referred to and finally resolved by Centre for the Resolution of Economic Dispute in the Lao People’s Democratic Republic in accordance with its arbitration rules for the time being in force, which rules are deemed to be incorporated by reference in this Clause. The seat of the arbitration shall be Vientiane Capital, Lao PDR. The tribunal shall consist of one (1) arbitrator. The language of arbitration shall be English.

10.2 Any award of the tribunal shall be binding from the day it is made, and the parties hereby waive any right to refer any question of law and any right of appeal on the law and/or merits to any court. Judgment on the award rendered by the tribunal may be entered in any court having jurisdiction thereof.
